1976 Ford-Sutphen 750 gpm Pumper

In 1976 the original Engine #3, the 1957 Ford that had served so well was replaced with this 1976 Ford - Sutphen pumper. The new pumper was equipped with a 750-gpm Hale fire pump, a 750-gallon tank and carried 1000-ft of 2-1/2 inch supply line. It also carried the standard engine company tools required at that time. Although a new truck it still required riding on the rear tailboard for most firefighting activities and it was not until late in the 1970's that riding on the rear was terminated. At the time that it was placed in service it was already outdated by the custom cab apparatus that was being brought out by apparatus builders. This truck served well into the 1980's as the first out vehicle on all township runs, Interstate highway calls and was the hose wagon for Engine #5. As with all smaller fire equipment of that era it was a pleasure to operate  and did well as a firefighting vehicle.

It was traded to the Finley Fire Equipment Company on a new piece of fire equipment in the early 1980's.
